  1. International Transgender Day of Visibility is an annually observed across the globe on 31 March to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of transgender people, as well as to raise awareness of the discrimination and violence faced by the transgender community worldwide.
  2. International Day of Drug Checking is an annual event that has been observed since 2017 on 31 March to educate people about drugs and their effects and to promote harm reduction initiatives to reduce the risks associated with drug use. 
  3. World Backup Day is an annual event that takes place on 31 March to raise awareness about the importance of data backup and protection.  
  4. Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has named Srikanth Venkatachari as the new Chief Financial Officer which will come into effect from 1 June, 2023.
  5. The inaugural joint conference between the Indian and African Army Chiefs took place in Pune, with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh as the Guest of Honor and Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pandey in attendance.  
  6. A new book titled ‘Basu Chatterji: And Middle-of-the-Road Cinema’ written by Anirudha Bhattacharjee has been released, which chronicles the life and times of the veteran Indian filmmaker Basu Chatterjee.
  7. The New Development Bank (NDB), which is also known as the BRICS bank and is a multilateral financial institution created by five BRICS countries including Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, has announced that former Brazilian President Dilma Vana Rousseff has been elected as its new President.
  8. Hockey India on 23 March 2023, was awarded the Best Organiser Award by the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) for successfully hosting the Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023.
  9. Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation General VK Singh flagged off the first Indigo Airline Delhi-Dharamshala-Delhi flight on 26 January, 2023.
  10. NDTV has appointed former Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) chairman Upendra Kumar Sinha as an independent director and non-executive chairperson of the NDTV board of directors.
  11. The Union Government on 28 March, 2023 increased the maximum age for Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA)’s ombudsman from 65 to 70 years.
  12. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is preparing four individuals to live on Mars on June 2023.
  13. Kashmir’s Aliya Mir was honoured with Wildlife Conservation Award 2023 for her exceptional efforts towards wildlife conservation in Jammu and Kashmir. Aliya is the first woman from Jammu and Kashmir to work for Wildlife SOS and is the first woman in the region to receive this honour.
  14. On 26 March 2023, Lovlina Borgohain won gold medal by defeating Australian boxer Caitlin Parker in the 75 kg category at the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championship at the Indira Gandhi Arena in Delhi and won her first-ever World Championship gold medal.
  15. India is set to become a major exporter of defense equipment and materials worth Rs 35,000 to Rs 40,000 crore by 2026.
  16. The first meeting of the G20 Trade and Investment Working Group held in Mumbai from 28-30 March 2023, with an attendance of over 100 delegates from G20 member countries, invitee countries, regional groupings and international organisations. The participants visited the Bharat Diamond Bourse to learn about India’s gem and jewelry industry and a Heritage Walk at Gateway of India was also arranged for all the delegates and guests.
